Sorry to hear that, and we are sorry for the inconvenience, but since we replace the mainboard for a new one, we double check it, and of course in the unlikely case this have a Mi account associated, it’s really strange that when we checked the wifi and coverage ( doing a phone call) we don’t noticed this, because like you can see, is not possible activate the device if there is a Mi account, and we tested all the parameters, included wifi and coverage. ( attached is the intern worksheet of your device, where you can see all the parameters our staff test even in new mainboards )
So maybe you are confused with the Mi account, or there another Mi account in your home and you entered by wrong.
